If you do not immediatly understand the material they trat you as if you are stupid. I met a grad student that teaches here and she told me that they are told that 70% of their time at work needs to be spent on research and only 30% spent teaching.

She also recently got in trouble for being to easy on her students when about 80% of her students got a grade of B or better. She was told that there should not be over 50% of her students with a grade of C or better.

You are not taught in an effective manor when at UNL. A large majority of the curriculum is memorization and regurgitation so a student doesn't truely learn the material. This would be a great school to go to for grad students because of the leading edge research that goes on here. But undergrads are just a number and their education isn't important to this undiversity. You pay way too much money for what you get out of the education here.

There is not enough student houseing. Just this last year 150-200 freshman students were put in temporary housing, which consisted of a few makeshift walls and painting over many large windows to give these students a small amount of privacy. When living on campus housing you are treated like a child and your every move is watched. The rooms are very small and, again, you pay too much to live on campus. The food on compus is dismal and there is no variety in choices.

The campus is pretty clean and all, but outside of football there is little to do and not many opportunities. That's all students can talk about, so if you aren't a fan of the team or the sport, you feel stuck because they don't stop talking about it even in the off-season.

校园确实很干净，但是除了足球，就没什么可做的了。学生们都很爱交谈，如果你不喜欢团队和运动，你会觉得很糟糕，因为即使在淡季，他们也会不停的谈论它。

The students are fairly nice, but pretty closed-minded with their only really cares football and alcohol. Outside of that, nothing but corn fields and farms for as far as the eye can see.

The classes are tougher than I would have thought, but in the end that will probably be beneficial.

The school spirit is pretty high but is obviously centered around football. After football season very few people care about the other sports, which kind of sucks if you are a basketball or baseball fan.

学校很重视足球，如果你是篮球或者棒球的忠实粉丝，你会觉得很失望。

I felt I produced a lot of creative work with people with friendly competition, instead of the high pressured cut throat I felt in High School. I really bloomed in Lincoln.

I received a solid education at UNL. The teacher education training program prepared me to meet the challenges presented in a classroom. While the weather and setting are not the best, I have very positive memories of my time as an undergraduate in Lincoln.

在UNL我受到了良好扎实的教育。

虽然天这里的天气和环境不是最好的，但是在林肯分校就读本科的日子里，给我留下了深刻美好的回忆。

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is a great place to attend college. It carries the ideals and values often found in the midwest and continues to improve the programs and buildings on campus. The campus sits right next to downtown Lincoln with several movie theaters, great restaurants, and a variety of things to do. Although parties are prevalent, they are not the central goal of many students at the university. There are so many students who are motivated to succeed and learn in the pursuit of education and personal fulfillment.

校区毗邻林肯商业区，有电影院，著名的餐厅等，有很多事情可以做。

这里很多学生都渴望成功，渴求知识和实现自我价值。

The pluses: people in Nebraska are incredibly friendly, especially in comparison to the urban west coast where I'm from. It's a large university, but not large enough to fall through the cracks. Most of my classes were fairly large, but the professors were usually accessible either before or after class or in office hours (although there are a few cranks, unfortunately). Same goes for Lincoln-- it's big enough to have what you'd expect from a large city, but no big that it overwhelms you.

The minuses: If you're not from the Great Plains, there can be a bit of "culture shock." Most of the students I encountered were from rural Nebraska, and while typically friendly, weren't always as open-minded as I wished. While not a "bad" city per se, much of Lincoln is quite ugly and difficult to navigate without a car (to be fair though, there is ample on-campus housing available and there are also parts of Lincoln that are quite charming). Also, the winter weather here is shocker. I have never felt so cold in my entire life!

优点：人们都很友好，特别是对比于来自西部地区来说。

班级很大，但是教授不管是课前课后或者办公时间都很容易接近。

不足：如果你不是来自Great Plains，也许会有一定的文化冲击。我所见的大部分学生都来自乡下的Nebraska，虽然很热情友好，但是不够开放。

如果没有车，出行不是很方便。

林肯分校的宿舍充足，这也是很吸引人的地方。

学校冬天很冷，我从来没有感受过像这样冷的冬天。
